Wildflower, I am a silver member. I got emails from my rep yesterday, but when I sign in I cannot view because of my low status. You would think, if you have a Rep, they would show the preview earlier too.
I noticed they have the second Nascar medallion at only $39.95, wheres the profit. I didn't catch the size.
Then you're entitled to 2 days advance ordering. Today's the 27th, maybe on either the 28th or 29th (depending have how days are counted) the newly released February products will appear for you?
They have all this secrecy and flex their muscles (see the sticky thread) over new coin releases yet they post new coin videos on YouTube and they just posted a pic of the Library of Parliament coin on Twitter before the coin is available on their website for general release.
The pysanka looks nice, the only problem is the price. Same for the Library of parliament. I prefer the parliament coin by far. However the mint uses any excuse to inch prices up wards. I will just watch for a deal in the future. Any getting close to a sell out.
Quote: Neat looking design, nice gift for a Ukrainian friend.
This will be cool, if the person appreciates this kind of collectibles. I've shown to the friend who has Ukrainian roots, he said: "find me simple souvenir painted egg, and the difference in the prices in the "gift card", please "...
The pysanka coin would be more appreciated by the person who collects the pysanka Easter eggs and given during the Easter season, as it would have a special meaning then. The eggs are quite an art form and take a skilled person to create. Its very time consuming.
The U of Calgary's Folklore department is very interested in Ukranian Canadian folklife. Cape Breton U had more of a Scottish/Acadian?Micmaw feel. A coin like this will drive one of the material culture proffs wild.
May I ask how much it is ocket change? I don't do a lot of NCLT but I may have to go for this guy.
I'm going to bet that somewhere in the RCM big, BIG Book of Marketing it reads that consumers are more apt to buy a new release if there's a lag time between the announcement of what's to come and eventually displaying a visual. For that number of days potential buyers become curious "wonder what it looks like" and that generates awareness, increases focus and heightens interest all of which ups the likelihood of buying.
As for the timing, Easter (egg) and St Pats (clover) both fall in March this year, so for gift giving, each is timed well to be released the month before.
