There seems to be a dozens of sold Morgan dollars for under $5. One listing even had 50 Morgans sold for $1.

Are that many sellers messing up, or are these counterfeits?

Read the feedback for the listing. The seller pooched the listing and did not honor the $1 bin. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...backAsSeller

He probably meant to do a starting bid of .99 and had previosly used a BIN. ebay sometimes defaults top the last used option.
I wouldn't expect anyone to take a loss like that over a mistake like that.

Yeah that was clearly a mistake on his part. I read through his other items for sale and he seems legitimate. I wouldn't have felt right buying that lot myself... Regardless what years and mints and conditions, those coins are worth $15+ each just in silver alone.

Buyer gave seller a POSITIVE with a less than positive comment (but not a NEGATIVE).

Heritage made the same mistake years ago back when they first started selling on ebay, many hundreds of coins (think about the type of stuff Heritage sells) all with BIN's of $0.99
