Soon there be a swimming, laughing, talking beaver too, if you buy it for 8 to 9 dollar mark up everything will be fair game. You should take your intials and stamp JGG and there you go a rare maple leaf.

There will be more privy to come. Introducing the Wild Canada Coin Series The Royal Canadian Mint is ready to celebrate the popularity of the Canadian Wildlife Series silver coins by launching a new, limited-edition Wild Canada Coin series that combines two of the mint's most popular designs. The planned six-coin program will launch over the course of three years and feature six different coins, just like the original Canadian Wildlife Series. However, instead of individual coins featuring the original images as the main design concept, the Royal Canadian Mint is combining its popular Canadian Silver Maple Leaf series by offering them up with privy marks honoring the Canadian Wildlife Series. The following are the important highlights for the upcoming Wild Canada Coin Series: Mintage strictly limited to 50,000 coins per design. Two coins released each year over three years. In order of release: the 2016 Wolf, the 2016 Grizzly Bear, the 2017 Cougar, the 2017 Moose, the 2018 Antelope, and the 2018 Wood Bison.Reverse bears the famous Sugar Maple Leaf design from the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf.Unique privy marks honoring the original Canadian Wildlife Series designs.Struck in Reverse Proof Finish.

Looks not bad. Overproduction but. RCM marketing people are lasy and do not want about introduction of fresh design or theme, so they re-using already existing, cause they know , that "people will eat this too". (cause this haven't been done for collectors, but for Mint itself to get extra money) I want series of SML with Privy of each of 7 circulation coins (1c - $2) , 5000 mintage , in capsule and COA.Added: not sure that I want this....same overflood. RAM done great annual set with such theme, so same from RCM will be amazing.

Well these design are from the dealers that commissioned the coins. It has nothing to do with RCM other than RCM minting them for the dealers. Can't blame RCM for these. If someone place an order, you just fill them.

Yes, you right, Lostwords, if they commisioned, it is different story. RCM just makes money on this, and probably everyone could order every Privy mark they want, just paying in advance for some portion of mintage. Thinking about this, some dealer may go big and order SMLs with bithdays or initials.....these willl go good

If you see Yingyangs post it seems to be a RCM release, but the problem with these bullion privy marks is the still the rinse issue but if you can flip them who cares

Unless I get for under melt I think I'm done with maples - other mints have more appealing designs and fewer milk spots.

This true, everyone will have them : CA, The Coin Shoppe , Gatewest (probably). Not really possible to compete with them, unless you buy a tube and resell coins one by one. If I 'll buy 1-2 coins, plus shipping, and then spend money on capsule, package, and the time, so the gain will be non significant. Too hight mintage (50k) to deal with small amount.

Privy coin do not seem to hold their value. But I dont have enough data to say much than that, I saw that Tulip did but is that a mintage thing? I dunno, I will let my more experienced Canadian friends expound on that.
I could go on and talk about these privy coins but that would seem like a re-hash.
For a collector, these privy coins are nice. I can see someone wanting to have all the privy marks on a reverse proof maple leaf coin and privy marks on bullion maple leafs as well.
I would imagine that keeps a collection varied and interesting and in some ways is unique.
Does anyone here exclusively collect maple leafs, either reverse proof or bullion (no colored or enameled maple leafs)? How big would such a collection be?
