How common is a coin without any lip to both sides? Don't know the technical name for it. 2001 Nickel. The Top coins are the one w/o the lip.

It's common. The 'lip' is called the 'rim'.

If Morgans have Hot Lips, do Nickels without lips have Frank Burns?

No, just a coin that was struck on a planchet that didnt have the rim raised as much as others in the upsetting mill. Happens by the billions. I have found it to be especially common on nickels from the early 1980s.

WheezyD. Was one of my first posts here. I've since found many coins with the same anomoly. Pretty common. Thanks though.
