http://www.ebay.com/itm/How-to-add-...AOSw5dNWqSmhLearn how to AT your coins! Quote: How to add extra value to your collectors coins . Rainbow tone them !!!! A nice colour on a coin can greatly enhance its ' eye appeal ' and value . My method of coin toning completely replicates the natural toning process - but does it quicker . Practically all coins in a collectors cabinet ( since around 1840 ) were placed in a shallow well in the coin tray , at the bottom of this well will be a round paper slip discribing the coin and its details . The paper would have been made by the old 'sulfite process' ( it wasnt done commercially after the 1970's ) meaning that the paper was manufacture using sulfite instead of the chlorine now used ). It is the presence of this sulfite paper that directly instigates the coin toning process , it gives off minute amounts of a heavier than air gas that collects in the well and reacts with the coins surface to colour it - it is called 'cabinet toning' and is very highly valued . The paper coin pouch I supply is treated with the exact same sulfites as were used in the last two centuries , and tones coin metals just as it has done in the past . So if you want to have coins with a lovely natural toning then simply place them into my coin pouch and the toning process will begin immediately . You can halt the toning process simply by taking the coin out of its pouch , and control the toning process by regulating its local atmosphere , for instance storing in a kitchen to increase the warmth and humidity levels will speed the colouring process . Each pouch is just two dollars and can accommodate a couple of coins or a large medal . At a cost of just a dollar each you can double its eye appeal with a lovely shimmering colour displays both sides - that makes what is a mass produced product quite unique - and therefor much more attractive and valuable . Full instructions with each order . Bobby, can you please report this scum?

Sad but I don't see ebay doing anything about this listing. Bad advice and questionable ethics if one is doing it for monetary gain but nothing illegal IMO.

I find it annoying he doesn't have a photo of his pouch is haha. Is it just a plastic Baggie with sulfur containing piece of paper lol. I bet a lot less people would order it if they saw what it was.

Buy a single old pulp magazine (preferably before 1940) and you have enough sulfate paper for a 1000 coins. Don't get a nice pulp, get the ickiest one you can find. Usually for a couple bucks. No cover needed.
If you want to experiment with AT you can then avoid it if you see it in later possible purchases.

Been looking for a scam.
Can't wait to get started.
I think I have some old "Amazing Stories" out in the garage.

I've worked in the paper industry for 40 years. I retired from a sulfite mill, and still work with them as a contractor. I have a friend who works at a Wisconsin sulfite mill which is making printing and writing paper.
The statements by the pouch-seller are complete gibberish. Especially the part about chlorine. It is rarely used anymore in the paper industry due to multiple environmental concerns.
What he is apparently doing is soaking paper in a sodium sulfite or bisulfite solution and drying it, then cutting pieces to put in his pouches. Sulfur in this form is a strong reducing agent and will tarnish silver. I'm not confident that it would produce astonishing rainbow toning. It would more likely turn silver black or sooty colored.
You'll probably have better luck striking matches under silver coins to tone them. I've taken polished shiny walkers back to an age-appropriate look by doing this. It's a combined effect of sooty grime and reduced sulfur gas (SO2) released by the burning match head.

Think he's got that covered too, he switched up the titles.

Frog - please be sure it's an icky Amazing. Even though that title isn't usually worth much I'd hate to be the reason that one of them was destroyed. Now send me all your Doc Savage, Shadow, G-8, and other hero or horror and I'd definitely have some silver goodies for you.

Potatoes work to some extent, baked with the coin inside ... Maybe the guy should sell spuds, too?

I used to have a ton of Doc Savage books, traded them to my ex-father-in-law many years ago for some hockey cards, along with trading him most of my other Silver Age and early Modern books (12-15 centers) -- he was a former comic/sportscard shop owner/dealer. Picked up some nice 60s Parkies and some early 70s OPC's Habs cards, Rocket etc.
Only kept a handful of SA books, Amazing War Stories, Detective Comics, etc.

Why does he need 18 listing for the same thing? Are they in different categories?
