Looking through some cents rolls this evening, and I just ran across this guy. I started to toss it in the return pile, but then thought...wait a minute. So I looked at it again under stronger magnification. Boy the hits these coins take can be very deceiptive sometimes.

Oh those earlobe ones. I had one a while back id a bet money on was a doubled ear and then coop came along...

The key difference? On hub doubling the area will be raised. On Machine damage/coin damage the area in question will be reduced and lowered below the same devices. This is lower, so it is not a hub doubled die.
