Hello,
I found a 1986 d penny that seems to have an extra ear lobe and is a brass color instead of the normal copper color. On the other side of the coin the letters r and n have a bulge in them. Is this a common error or something special. Thank you for your help.

The ear took a hit giving it the appearence of doubling. As for the color, that is just natural toning. The early zincolns seem to get a lttle more orange than more modern struck cents.
Rest in Peace

Nothing usual other than more plated cents confusing more collectors.

I'm not an expert, but first ear pic looks like a contact mark and the last pic r and n resembles plating bubbles. Thanks, Doug.

Normal die coin with a contact mark as mentioned before. Not a doubled die.
