I got my sanoto light box where this in the older model. it has 2 tube bulbs both 5500k. I will be changing these bulbs out for led lights. that way I have already built a dimmer switch. the new leds I purchased are 6500k. they can be dimmed from 10 percent to 100 percent in other words total darkness. as you the top has a hole that I can shoot photos through the top. the box is 12 inches by 16 inches

I think the trace paper CFL diffusion looks very promising. If I may make a suggestion.. often with a light box I get frustrated with the coin looking "washed-out," maybe you could try taping black paper to the ceiling of the box on either only the left half or only the right half? Some coins may look good if you make the edge diagonal, too.

mamastinky. ok I will try that. I am building a set of led stripe replacement lights. they will have a dimmer switch wired in line. the bracket I built is made of aluminiun flat bar 1 inch wide. I have figured out away to shoot in the light box. it seems to give great results so far. I may need to built a tilt mount stage. I find that the cfl just don't work. I need the hard light from the leds. that way you can show lustre and lots of contrast. I will show some images later to show you what I mean. thank you have a great one

mcshilling I am finding for myself. coin imaging to do them all. that is all the Canadian coins. you need about 3 different ways to shoot all the coins. the nickel dollars the cell phone. the rest different lighting and lens. I got that big macro lens. I am waiting for an adapter. I hope that will get rid of the lens reflection. I will share some photos later. have a great one
