I also own it. I just took it out of the safe to get another look. If the price was right I guess I'd sell but I bought it because I liked it.

I have the 3 coin set because it's low mintage. It's for my collection but I'd sell it if it rose significantly - only because I like early coins.

I bought it because I like it but if the value increase I might consider selling to fund my 7070.

I buy for keeps...
However, several times in my life I needed money
desperately and sold off large portions of my coins.

When I went into business for myself, about 4 years ago,
I sold many coins that I really wanted to keep.
Nothing terribly rare... And going into business for
myself was also very rewarding and the best thing I ever
did. So it all went to a good cause.

Some of the things I wish I hadn't sold:
*LGF $5 UNC
*Jefferson coin/currency set
*A stack of UNC currency, including funnybacks,
N. Africas, and Hawaiis.
*2 1999 silver proof sets (I buy annual sets in 2s)
*70 UNC set

Those are the ones that I don't relish re-buying.
If I hadn't sold these with all the other 'regular'
sets and commems that I did, the proceeds wouldn't
have been as good.
Sold all my guns too.

Edit:
Darn it... I typed a novel and didn't even say what
I orginally wanted!
Looks like that bald set is proof only. ?
I don't buy commem proofs... UNC only.

I would keep for my own collection and sell when I get old and gray if the price was high enough :) I buy coins for my own hoarding collecting purposes but its dual edged sword. When I retire I got a nice backup cash flow without tax penalties :)

I have an "idea of future retirement" too.......but it would only be a "supplement".....cause it's going to be sooooo expensive then ! Gas, food, etc. etc........I just hope my coins gain the same money as gas will 30 years from now !!..... 30 years from now I hope Gold and Silver is worth 350% more than it is now !........(if it would just "tank" so that I could buy more though)

I hope thirty years from now we will have finally moved away from gasoline powered transportation! But I fear it wont come to pass. It is 2008 and I am still waiting on my flying car!

Jbuck.........
We may have to move to Japan for that stuff 30 years from now......they always have the coolest "comfort" inventions and are ahead of the game in electronics, and economy cars, and so much else........just technology in general......AND EDUCATION TOO !.....which is really what you look at 30 years from now. The NEXT generation is who will be the leaders of "technology".....this country is in serious trouble !
I just saw a huge white cadillac with TEXAS LONGHORNS (skull included) attached to the grill yesterday ! Ha Ha.......And there's four wheel drives and hummers all over this town !.......they've got to make "alternatives" affordable or very few will do it.......some are I know....like that "Prius" I guess......
Too many people still like "BIG".....and can still afford em' @!
We are seeing the result of the "corn idea" with ethanol, etc......
It drives up the prices of our FOOD !....steak, hamburger, milk....and countless other "corn related food items"......they can't win for tryin' it seems!
