pginrh Valued Member Canada 456 Posts	Posted 02/03/2016 11:02 am On the 1941 through 1949 George VI 50c dies, the last two date digits were entered manually. On the die for this coin, it appears that the upper right of the 4 upright has been manually touched up. You can see it better on better condition coins. Reworked may be the wrong term for this touching up... Zoell used to use the term 'recut'. You can see similar reworking on a few other coins of this era. Report this Post to the Staff

This appears to be a narrow date, round 9, straight 4 and a wide date, round 9, flared 4 (same as Canacoin, without reworked 4) I notice that sometimes the "1" is doubled, but not in my samples.
