looks like a die crack on the year, but the coin is so heavily worn that it could be anything.

I;m guessing PMD, with a bit of the field shoved into the last digit before the damage continued on to the northeast toward the rim.

Die cracks manifest themselves as RAISED areas on a coin, not depressions.

If anything it looks like a lamination on your coin. Given how circulated it is, it could be anything ( PMD)

The truth is that in that condition it really doesn't matter as far as value is concerned. In this instance it's virtually impossible to tell because of the wear.
