@DBM
Your comment about rotated dies made me check on two 48's I have and sure enough there is same degree of rotation as I see in the pic that is on ebay so your right not that rare at all. Interesting note on a 48 MS63 I have in an ICCS holder- it was a blast white 2 years ago and now like a few others I have in ICCS holders it is toning a pink color on reverse and same around edge on obverse going to be a keeper for sure.

Exactly wildflower, I'm with you on this one. Sadly, I've met a few shady people in my time who were ebay powersellers, and was later bragged to by them about how they only own one 'legit' ebay account with dozens of stealth accounts in which they do exactly what your referring to. Very few people put out those kinds of bids with so few winning bids, the retractions further the suspicions. I've been on ebay for 10 years and never had to retract a bid.

It went cheap. I had to miss the end of the auction. Someone got this cheap.

That's about fair price for this coin can't really tell from pics if it's a good ms63 or a crappy 63, but you can always return if not.

$2600.00 is the average ebay selling price for a 48 MS63
Silver Dollar so the price was fair for both sides.

ooops stand to be corrected re rotated dies in 48. The rotation I have is on rev of a MS63 48 I have. I never took note of that until this thread and ICCS did not record it of course on the holder.

All the rotations are the native paddling uphill or downhill up to about 15% or you can see it the other way with the King rotated.

"Rotated in holder" would be a more accurate description. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bottoms of G and X should be horizontal, and/or a line just below the nose through the bottom of the ear. Alternatively, I believe the E in DEI needs to be plumb vertical, or at least the space between D and E, for proper alignment in order to judge die rotations. Mine is honest at about 45 degrees. This one is probably the rarer "not rotated dies" variety.
