I got this 1973 Jefferson nickel in change and after I looked at it with my loupe, it appears as if there is something under the 3 in the date, so I checked it out under my USB scope and it looks like there may be a 2 under the 3. I check on the sites and found nothing for over-dates for that year. I marked where I can see the lines. Looking for opinions on this coin.

Thank You

Maybe a die clash, but not overdated.

Over dates are more of a 19th century thing when the date digits were punched into the dies separately.

On the current coins age all the digits are done on the die at the same time. Thus no different year digits. If they accidently used two different years, then the digits may be from different year hubs. These would be a doubled die rather than an over date.
