I like NT coins but unless graded I couldn't tell if they were doctored or not so the few that I have I cherish. I had what started out as a blast white MS66 dollar a few years ago that is now changing tone to a lovely pink/gold color around to edge inside of a ICCS holder but I'm not complaining about it.

Would it make sense if toned coins had a category like the RB RD cent values we see listed in Trends ?

Toned coins generally sells for more if the eye appeal is there (and of course, that depends on the buyer). In the case of RB or RD cents, these aren't so much about toning, but more about preservation. All cents to my knowledge start out red, and eventually become brown (if constantly exposed to air). And so I think that's where the premium for red cents comes from. It has eye appeal, but Its also more of a preservation thing

Just my opinion. I do love toned coins, but it'd be hard to put a price on

Toning is personal preference in silver coins I've seen chocolate dollars eventually sell but in copper, red is by far the most valued.
Rest in Peace

As stated, toning is so collector specific as to desirability that it would be impossible to list toned coins as a separate value. NT iridescent bulls-eye toning to black carbon measles.

Most love the first and hate the second.

There are also those who seek nothing but screaming white.

I agree with copper it's pretty much preservation. There isn't too much of a deviance from the mean without environmental damage as far as colors go. Silver has so many variants it would be super hard. It's easier when you have two extremes red and chocolate. Silver you get ring toning or full toning and so many colors possible,

I will happily sell you toned silver at a premium

Other than preference/eye appeal, I hope it does not sell for a premium or become a classified category. It will only further the artificial toning/playing with surfaces of coins. I'm still a little cloudy on what natural toning is, it seems like a better categorization would be intentional vs. un-intentional toning, given that there are so many factors that cause toning.
