Hi all,

A large H and anchor on obverse.
So I dug this out of the ground about 4 years ago, searched and searched for any information on the net to little avail.

After contacting one person I managed to get "It is listed in the 7th edition of the Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Colonial Tokens on p. 80 NS-30."

Not having access to this book I still have no details.. and now I am in awe because I have just seen an ebay listing of this coin with an asking price in the thousands.

I am curious if anybody with knowledge of this coin can enlighten me as to what it is that is making it so special, what is it's history?

thanks for any help!!

Well, in Charlton's an Unc NS-30 sold for $1870 in 1999 at a Jeffery Hoare auction. This coin is not Unc and don't know if any more have been located. It's a private trade token struck for Nova Scotia in Halifax. Maybe one of the token gurus will step up.

This piece needs to be certified by either ICCS, PCGS, NGC, or CCCS.

To get the best opinion on this piece I really suggest trying to post better pictures. This can be accomplished with a smart phone.

Well, you can get no higher up on the dealer scale than Sandy Campbell at Proof Positive, who is the ebay seller. He deals in the rarified air of 5 & 6 figure individual coin sales

Speaking of Proof_Positive_Coins, why would they have on their ebay listing that they would accept 'no returns' and they are from Baddeck Nova Scotia yet say, May not ship to Canada?

To the OP nice coin for being dug.
