You'd have to ask Sandy, but I would guess that it had to deal with the Canadian Postal service and insurance concerning coins ... or lost/stolen items.

He will probably be at Nuphilex in Montreal March 11 always at most large coin shows.

Thank you very much guuys, this is very good to know about Sandy Campbell.. and speaking of his ad for the coin on ebay, it amazes me that this coin is touted as being so famous in the provincial series yet nowhere have I found what it is that is making this coin so.. is it really just it's rarity?

I know in 1817 the government tried to remove all tokens from circulation in favor of the new currency but really nothing else historical really happened in 1816..

This token is not like a MS 66 1948 dollar priced about the same or a little more, the token probably is rare but so are token collectors at that price, unless the Irving's need one.
