Good afternoon, I am going to sell some of my PCGS and NGC slabbed coins on Monday and I was hoping someone could tell me what to expect. I have never sold graded slab coins, so I was wondering is there a fair percentage of the value I can get from the dealer? I looked up all the values for the coins on the PCGS site. So if someone knows the answer could you let me know. Thank You Robert Here is the list everyone has been asking for: I have no pictures, so here is a list. 1812 1c AG-3 ANACS 1819/8 1C FAIR-2 ANACS 1909 1C AU-58 NGC 1914-S 1C VF-35 NGC 1956 1C MS64-RB PCGS 1959 1C PR67-RD PCGS 1992-S 1C PR69 DCAM PCGS 1999-S 1C PR69-RD DCAM PCGS 2000 1C MS65-RD PCGS ( Wide AM) 2009 1C MS65-RD NGC (FIRST DAY CEREMONY - FORMATIVE YEARS) 2008-D 5C MS65-FS PCGS 1939 10C VF-30 NGC 1943 10C AU-58 NGC 1943-D 10C MS63 ANACS 1943-S 10C F-19 NGC 1946 10C MS66 PCGS 1971 10C UNC-58 NGC 2001-P 10C MS66 PCGS 2000-S 25C PR69 DCAM PCGS MASSACHUSETTS 2000-S 25C PR69 DCAM PCGS MASSACHUSETTS 2001-S 25C PR70 DCAM PCGS KENTUCKY 2001-S 25C PR70 DCAM PCGS KENTUCKY 2001-S 25C PR69 DCAM PCGS NORTH CAROLINA 2001-S 25C PR69 DCAM PCGS RHODE ISLAND 2001-S 25C PR69 DCAM PCGS VERMONT 2004-S 25C PR70 DCAM PCGS IOWA 2004-S 25C PR70 DCAM PCGS IOWA 2004-S 25C PR69 DCAM PCGS MICHIGAN 2004-S 25C PR69 DCAM PCGS TEXAS 2005-S 25C PF69 ULTRA CAMEO NGC CALIFORNIA (SILVER) 1964-D 50C MS66 NGC 1986-D 50C MS68 ANACS STATUE OF LIBERTY 2009-S $1 PF69 ULTRA CAMEO JAMES K POLK 1898 $2 1/2 EF-45 PCGS LIBERTY HEAD QUARTER EAGLE 1908 $5 AU-50 PCGS INDIAN HEAD HALF EAGLE 1944-B 1/2FR AU-55 ANACS SWITZERLAND OK that's all of them Edited by SundaysOff 02/13/2016 5:29 pm

What coins are you selling? With regards to PCGS/NGC Price Guides you should expect to get 25% to 35% of the value as a wholesale dealer offer unless the material is extraordinary. You'll generally get much more selling the coins to another collector directly or on ebay.

And why do you want to sell to a dealer ? Not for nothing ,but a dealer will give you only a fraction of what their worth.

If you want honest prices, the very best you can get would be the closed prices on ebay. PCGS prices are not realistic and I would hazard to say that no one has ever paid what they list for prices. As has been suggested, show us what you have and we can give you a very specific answer. Otherwise, you are essentially asking us how much is a car? We don't know what year the car was manufactured in, what brand it is, the mileage, or the condition - but you want us to tell you the value of A CAR. Same with coins. Let us know what you have and we are always helpful, but it's just not possible to tell you how much a car is worth.

Do not want to hurt your feelings , but a lot of what you have listed would be a very tough sell. A lot of the pieces described the plastic cost more than the coins value. In dealers terms " you are buried" .. Good Luck!

Sundays and yes, the PCGS price guide is very, very high retail. Most of the time unrealistic to start with. Especially selling to a dealer, get a cash offer and thank them for their time and find another dealer to see how the two offers compare. I always look at ebay sold prices to get an idea of what a coin retails for.

There is a large coin show in your area this weekend - http://www.coinzip.com/greater-american-coin-show - including tomorrow. If you know what you want for each item (following the method outlined above), you may do better selling them in small groups to different dealers based on what they already have to sell. You should be able to sell 1964 and earlier coins this way, especially the two gold items. Most of the rest is the kind of stuff that dealers buy only because it comes in a collection of stuff they want and they put it in their $10 clearance bin at shows. Also the MS69 quarters - what happens is dealers submit entire rolls and bags in bulk paying $5 or $10 a coin and know that 10% or 20% that grade as MS70s can be resold for enough to cover the costs and the MS69s are junk to unload for $5 or $10. It's a tough way to make a few $.

Apart from the gold, most of the rest of this is crap you will not get offers on except at very low prices. As has been mentioned above, dealers do not actually buy these MS-68+ modern coins. They send in a BU roll to get one or two hits that pay for it all. There is no real market for perfect modern quarters as they have no real value beyond the BU roll price. Apart from the gold, I'd expect 10 cents on the dollar for most of the rest of it. Try ebay. You may run into another collector that values this stuff.

wait three months, get your 250 posts in, be a contributing member of the forum, and then sell or trade them on here... you will be better off that way... you won't make a fortune selling those coins, you might as well wait and hold on to them...
