This is a large coin - about the diameter of a British crown but with the thickness of a Half-Crown

1932-Netherlands-2.5-Gulden

Containing .5787 oz. tr. of silver

There is supposed to be a rare variant of this coin with deep hairlines!? - these look deep to me, but of course I don't think this is the rare one. I wonder what that coin should look like?

Not knowing this coin at all I would say based on the level of preservation I would expect this would easily grade XF. It may even go low AU depending on the amount of luster it still possesses

I would tend to agree; easily an American AU, probably a British / European AU as well.

Nope!
I mean, it's scratchy alright but isn't the detail good? - I don't think this could have been too well circulated in it's time..

This coin does appear to have some significant wear in the hairlines. I've cropped some areas out and brightened them a bit....
