Well it is the classical story
He needs to sell because he needs money and this is his best coin

He claims he has seen a 1995 half ounce Chopin from Poland a 200 Zlotty go for 8000 euro (he is only asking 4000 euro = about 5300 dollars .

What he does not understand is that the Monnaie de Paris cranks out like 45 different designs each year and the gold coins going from a quarter to 5 ounces a coin and the minting from 5000 to 99

On the other hand I only see a Zlotty goldcoin once every 14 days
on ebay so I guess their mint is not yet cranking them out .
Rest in Peace

And I've been seeing 2007 George Washington dollars sell for 600 dollars. Doesn't mean I'm gonna list one on ebay and get the same amount. This guy is living in a fantasy world. I hope he's not desperate for the money because it's gonna be a long time before he sees it.

Here's how Google translator translated the page (for amusement only and not to be taken literally )--

Amberg - a cheat gang from Amberg bounced more as 200 ebay customers with the auction of gold bar and other precious metal goods around more than one half million euro. As police headquarters communicated Amberg on Wednesday, the five arrested men at the age of 20 to 26 years offered with over thousand on-line auctions for September gold, silver and platinum in ingot and coin form.

Initially the gang supplied the commodity also as agreed upon, in order to develop itself with good evaluations of the customers in the salesman profile confidence. When the Bieter finally larger posts to favourable prices ersteigerten and individual sums of money up to 13.000 euro had transferred, the promised supplies were missing however. "With us at one time announcements from the whole federal territory accumulated themselves up", explained a police speaker. It is to be expected that more than those will announce themselves so far over 200 damages.

The investigators came the five men from the area Amberg finally among other things with the help of the auction house on the trace. Altogether over the account of the main suspect 1,100 auctions ran and altogether 1.1 million euro were received. The gang ordered and mostly to its purchase price supplied however only commodity in the value of 600.000 euro. Are from the remaining sum 400,000 euro verschollen.

The young men would have spent, explained most money obviously on cars, expensive clothes and a complex life-style the speaker. Against two leaders warrant of arrest was issued, the other three had been set after confessions on free foot.

I think the technology needs to mature a little more...

From what I understand, he sure would have a hard time trying to sell it in France. Does this happen much, French trying to sell gold to German buyers?

Monnaie de Paris should follow this coin with one commemorating the previous 400 years of war between the two countries. Even during the planning and construction of the Chunnel, there was fear that the Chunnel would be a pathway for some future invasion of England.

For some type of coins German ebay is the only one that will get your coin sold and at a reasonable price.
I guestimate that 80% of the Monnaie de Paris coins end up on the German ebay and about 20% are straight from French sellers
( Also in France there are taxes on gold this may have something to do with it . Brussels is like 2 hours by fast train from Paris and no taxes on gold . I have been told french come to buy in Brussels now )

Also Belgians, Italians and Swisse are selling directly on ebay Germany . At one time there were like 110 pages of real gold coins
Now there are about 45 pages but some stuff
Like smallest coins of the world ( 0.6gram of gold if you are lucky)
Nuggets found in streams
Powder gold
Fake gold used by jewellers or banks with an effigy on one side only
The speciality of the French ebay these days seems to be in goldplated stuff

Here we have an American selling goldplated stuff using a Babelfish translation on ebay Germany

It says this is an unbelievable thumbrubbed miniature testimony
( wrong translation for the word proof)

From a dying caught up collector testimony
(Means dead mans proof )
