2009 Mariana Quarter 'Trial Mark'? - Coin Community Forum

comdewah New Member United States 41 Posts	Posted 02/15/2016 02:13 am I was looking in my bag of 2009 Northern Mariana Island quarters and found this one with a small round incuse mark on the reverse below the birds head. Also on the edge is an incuse impression all the way around. I'm wondering what this could be from. What could these dots be also? Different view of the dots. Angled view of ring. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 02/15/2016 10:24 am The mark on the outside edge of the reeds could be created by a coin counter damage or vending machine damage. Either way it is damage and does not improve the value for the coin. Just a spendable coin. Report this Post to the Staff

Also this quarter was removed from it's original $25 Mint bag I purchased from the U.S.Mint 6 years ago. So, this quarter hasn't had it's opportunity to 'really' circulate yet.
