The recent listing on ebay of a 48 dollar with rotated die and being noted by seller as a "rarity" begs the question as to there being any added value to the rotation on the 48's?

I'm sure that some collectors will like the rotation.
Have you got a link to the ebay coin?

I've been waiting to see an example of 45% to 90 or 180 version with many 20 to 30% out there the loose die must of produced such coin, most of the time the coin sells for no added value, but in hard holders it's so easy to see.

I agree 90 to 180 degrees is interesting otherwise not so much. As mentioned there are plenty under 45.

If that was an AU55, then I saw that too. I have been tracking '48s on ebay for the last two years and that is the highest price for an AU55 auction in that time. It did not say rotated on the holder so I took that as not a major rotation. All 1948s have crept higher in the last year but it looks like some person was willing to pay extra for that feature. Personally I'd have taken a regular MS60 for the same money.

There are some massive PCGS 48s on ebay right now. MS64 Green Holder and SP64. Neither appear to be rotated dies.
