1943-D Jefferson nickel DDR

Took a risk and Coin cherry picked off small ebay pictures thought it might be a DDR..

This toned lds 1943-D Jefferson nickel DDR has doubling that gets bigger as it moves through the letters on E-Pluribus Unum, very minor on Cents and even some tight doubling on United States of America.

Doesn't really match any of the 4 DDR but it's close to the marker of the wddr-003 the roof.

Anyone that wants to help feel free.. I am still learning this nickel series.

Die crack goes through E-Pluribus down to the mint mark

top of D mintmark might be RPM also not sure on that?

It is a DDR. Hard to tell which one though. When they are minor like this I make a notation on my inventory with markers and hope someday to find a listing.

Nice coin Ocala!

Good tip Coop - I have several unidentified doubling specimens, mostly RPMs. Just waiting for them to be 'discovered' to get the markers.

Unum part is pretty well spread..

What I do first, when looking for DDR is Unum which is typically the PUP pick-up point (part of interest to look at )

So I look at bottoms of letters n and m in Unum for extra width and height or spread and then the letters rib in plu rib us are connected which of coins same year mint mark not as connected and the bottom of n and m are thinner less bold you won't see splits but highlights sometimes

Another coin with a fresher die state will show the spread better. Probably the reason why I like the Proof nickels better than the business strike nickels.
