We're done. Yesterday I reported a blatant counterfeit seller for the tenth time and their account is still active. Also they won't touch sellers that spend a lot of money. I'm fuming right now, I told them we're done.

Well, it was nice while it lasted. I am sure this took up a lot of your time.
Can we still post about counterfeits in the regular forums?

Talk about counterfeits, sure.
But don't go pointing out every counterfeit you see, it will annoy the crap out of most members.

That is sad/irritating. Anyways thank you Bobby and others for taking your time and making ebay a tiny bit safer anyways!

Bobby- I hate to ask, but here goes... without revealing trade secrets, etc. - how many additional supporters would it take to replace the ebay advertising revenue? if it was a small number, say 100, we could probably do a promotion to gain that many supporters and drop ebay adds and referrals. If it would take 100,000, clearly no go.

Bobby, I can understand your feelings here... I'm relatively new to the forum as an active member and felt that I was doing something good for the numismatic community, and the forum members here, by sharing my decades of knowledge collecting US coppers. But I must be honest; I was getting tired of seeing so many counterfeits of the key dates, especially those fake s-mint Indian Heads in the rolls. Creating a good post, editing photos, takes time. And there seemed always to be another to report. I don't know how you were able to deal with so much crap posted, PLUS get pushback from ebay supporting big sellers. I'd have a blowup. As a specific pet peeve, I'm going to continue working with that counterfeit 1914-d Lincoln Cent that GSC is selling. If I can plan a little ahead, I'll buy it, do a deep photographic study, return it as a counterfeit, and give a big fat negative feedback. Someone with deep pockets and a legal background needs to sue, or threaten to sue, ebay for facilitating in the sale of counterfeit coins. Having evidence, like what we were doing here, would put ebay in a very bad light in front of a judge. Have you burned all your bridges at ebay? I hope not. Things have a way of turning around...

Thanks to you bobby. I too learned a lot and your work surely save a lot of people from making costly mistakes. Seems to me that ebay will be a place to avoid when it comes to coin purchases.

Bobby, can we not still have a counterfeit ebay forum, albeit one with no action taken? I'm afraid too that the Classic and Modern forums will be inundated with postings of fakes.

Sent GSC this message about the 1914-D Cent: Bobby, (Guy at GSC not bobby131313) That sounds like BS, especially the camera angle, come on bro I checked my birth certificate and I was born at night but not last night ..... OK here is what I am thinking .... I will bid on this coin and get into my hands and take to expert and if it comes back fake, I will involve the Feds ..... I STRONGLY suspect this to be a fake, similar to the 1922 No D coin GSC attempted to pass off ..... GSC has some big guns and I'm just a tiny little consumer but I am not afraid to voice my opinion ..... I request you remove the listing, it is a fake! Best, Ansel Please: Do Not Bid against me, I'm going for this .... Go-Rebels if you want to get together with me maybe there is someway you can contact me, I don't have enough time here yet for me to contact you ..... I'm even thinking about doing a buy now page on ebay for $5 and you get a Wheat cent in return to help fund this ..... I'm going for it!

Bobby - thanks for all your time and efforts. I feel that this forum has made a difference with its ability to block the sale of Chinese copy/counterfeit coins. It has also been a good resource for identifying the characteristics of 1909-s-vdb and 1914-d Lincoln cents. Best Regards - Jim

Ansel, I doubt you will get a reply.
I posted a question to GSC too yesterday morning... in a manner a little more, er... neutral.
GSC has yet to respond back to me.

Bobby, I thought so too, but I just checked and I'm not yet blocked. That's not to say that GSC just hasn't yet gotten around to me...
