Counterfeit Forums Locked

For me it would be like posting every single nickel you get in change.

I like the idea of a counterfeit forum even if no action is taken as it will still put the information out there for all who are wanting and willing to learn about Counterfeit Detection. I guess the reality is we cannot protect everyone from the crooks on ebay. I guess it will have to be enough to just help educate everyone here on CCF. After all, education is the key to success.

As others have already posted, all your efforts reporting violations to ebay were greatly appreciated.

Couldn't there be a "post your counterfeits" thread in each forum, like there are for new acquisitions and the like?

All I can think about is that a few years ago I didn't even know to LOOK for fakes much less what to look for.

I felt that I would have to count on the slabbers -- and now the slabs are faked, too.

It's discouraging.

But like I said many, many moons ago.... ebay corporate doesn't care about counterfeits and replicas and it's all about the money. There may be a few individuals at ebay that care, but when push comes to shove, the money will win out.

Terribly sorry to hear you have been forced out of your crusade. Anyone who followed your actions received a first class education about fakes and counterfeits.

To think GSC knowingly sells fakes is sad, too. I occasionally purchased a TPG from them.

I always place sniper bids and after having GSC pull low bid auctions with the excuse that the coin was sold I wrote them a very nice email.

I just told them that almost any seller of good quality merchandise knows that the last 10 seconds of the sale are the most important. And that I'd set up bids on ten separate auctions that been pulled before close and that didn't make a lot of sense.

Even though I'd spent thousands of dollars with them I received no answer. But the next time I tried to bid I was blocked.

Fake coins and very poor customer service.
