Is it a Denver coin? If not, it is not the 1918/7. But from what I can see, it is not the 1918/7.

It is not an 8 over 7...the bottom loop of the "8" is too full. If it were the 8/7 variety the bottom loop of the 8 would be about half full.

I can see why you MIGHT think it's an 8/7, but the photos just aren't clear enough. First, answer the question of whether it's a D mint. If not, it's not. If it is a D mint, back your camera off and shoot the full front of the coin and post it back to this thread.

I'm going to say that I think there's a pretty good probability that it's an overdate. In the third photo I think I see what looks like a straight bar across the top, the diagonal stem of the 7 (near the top) and a sort of half-moon lower oval. Or my glasses need cleaning...one or the other. I'd still like to see a photo of the whole front of the coin...

The more I look at it, the more I really don't know. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Eyes start playing tricks and I start seeing things that may, or may not, be true.

I can't tell from the photos. Here are pictures of mine since it is in nearly identical condition. I just used my Android phone slightly zoomed in, with a 10x loupe held over the camera lens, and a light source shining on the coin. For capturing small details like this I like to hold the phone at a bit of an angle.

One thing to check is the mintmark. If you have a 1918/7-D, the mintmark will be in the exact same spot as the one pictured below, with the same orientation (slightly tilted CCW). This may not guarantee you have one, but it will rule it out if it does not match. Good luck!
