Not sure if this is normal for this mint mark. Can't tell if it is a type of error.
Any help would be appreciated.

Tommy. Are you wondering about the small bit peeking out under the middle of the S. It might be part of the design as it shows in examples of the mint mark, but I am not an expert.

There appears to be a little damaged mint mark punch see on the center of the mint mark on your coin. (as seen on second image)

The third image appears show a line under the center of the mint mark. But when looking at the building, you can see the same line on the base of the building and "A" as well. So I'm thinking this is machine damage during the strike. If it were just on the base and "A", it might have been something. But with it also on the mint mark, it seals the deal as MD. If it were from hub doubling you could see the line on the base and letter device. But the mint mark is punched into the die in a later step. So the chance of all three being from the same event is only possible with machine damage during the strike.
