1943-P Jefferson nickel Double Eye not an WDDO-002

Another very cool oddity found in the 1943-P from today.

It's a nice strong WDDO-003

It's very weak but you can see and mind you this is not the wddo-002 and should not have it at all.

Going through my hoard of 1943-P nickels today I found this I looks like an 1943-P WDDO-002 but it's not the eye is weaker the doubling goes on more devices and slightly different location actually a match for a wddo-003.

Comments, suggestions or feedback welcome...

I don't see matching die flow lines on 002 or 003 Wexler listings with your coin. You might want to re-take your image to cover the same devices as listed by Wexler's images. I would like to find something that matches as markers. Seems like the Wexler die state coin is later than your coin. It might even be a different die or the same that has no matching markers. (the jury is still out on this one)

I will retake tomorrow but its not a 002 its a 003 just thought it was odd to have the light extra eyelid part.

here are 2 shots that are same form listing I don't believe my coin has either of those reverse markers at all

could be different die but definitely a DDO

I agree it is a DDO. Just don't see an exact match for a marker. When I look at the spreads on the coins they look a bit different to me. The bottoms of the TY looks different on each. The mark on the TYs upright looks more spread on one. (difference in sizes of images/rotation of images might be the cause. Also the die states may alter the ends of the top devices near the rims) Note the tight leg of the 'T'? The one on the right looks different. More spread on opposite sides. Same on the 'Y'. That is what I'm seeing as possibly a different die? Tops of the 'Y' shows different strengths of the notch on the left sides.

I will set up the pictures tomorrow I did like wrong die as I thought it was 002 at first

its nice to have others look at these, all the help you guys are doing is great.

I have every nickel book I can find but they are not much help compared to here and bvc attribution pictures.

I have a few more different DDO / DDR then ones listed some years but still missing listed ones too so I think its still a very uncharted area.

It is awesome how you can get pretty much as close to an attribution as possible right here on this forum without having to physically send your coin anywhere
