1878 S/S Error? - Coin Community Forum

Collectorinfl New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 02/22/2016 2:13 pm I picked up a few Morgans recently including this one. As I'm still new, thought I would ask the experts here if I am correct in thinking this is a S/S error. I have included photos to show the overall state of wear of this coin. Also if anyone would be willing to give me an idea of what this coin would grade I would be very grateful. dave700x Rest in Peace United States 10625 Posts	Posted 02/22/2016 8:32 pm Thanks for moving this mods. I went through the VAM listings seeing this as a broken left star and r in trust unbroken. All the dies that are listed as S/S are not a match. I'm hoping one of the more seasoned VAMmers will be able to match this one up. Meantime, I'll keep looking. Report this Post to the Staff
LewFR New Member United States 10 Posts	Posted 02/22/2016 8:42 pm This looks like a 78S VAM-8 die 1. It also looks like there are a lot of fine line up on the obverse, particularly the face, which may be from a cleaning. Report this Post to the Staff

Perhaps this will help. and thanks everyone who has responded thus far! any idea on this one? VAM and Grade? and please give me pointers so I can learn what to look for. Thanks in advance!
