Much better pics needed - sharper focus with realistic color. Doubt it's a proof in any event.

I'd like to see better photos also. Right now looking at the digits in the date and the rim I'm not sure this one is even genuine.

IGE - That was my initial impression as well - the digits appear rather fat and inconsistent with a high-grade coin. But the general pattern here is consistent with the unbalanced numeral heights generally found on this date, so I'm trying to give it some leeway until we can see better photos - these tell us nothing.

Just wanted to clear something up. I don't know if you are very knowledgeable or just a beginner, but there are definitely beginners out there so it I'd worth pointing out. You seem to be implying that the detail is so good that you think it may be a proof. Proof is not a grade, it is a type of minting. A coin that is a perfect business strike, (regular) can still never be proof. It may be proof-like. Proofs on the other hand can be , though are usually not, circulated. I imagine that you knew this already, but I wanted to clear it up for anyone who may not.

Thank you, @BigSilver . I am aware that proof is not a grade as it is a type of strike. I was wondering if it was proof, would it be PF63,64 ect.

@IndianGoldEagle @T-Bop @coinfrog @ShaftA9a I now noticed that the date looks off. I compared it to my other 1881 indian head pennies and others on the internet. Would you say it is a fake? If sol I will contact the seller and get a return. Thank you.

Just for reference, if you think you have a proof, look for a very full strike characterized by wide, squared off rims (business strikes usually have rounded rims). Proofs usually have mirrored fields and often a cameo appearance, like this coin.
