Hi all,
I'm back and running finally! First of all, Thank you so much for helping me get my cent project counts in, That meant alot to me!! I found this one today and thought it was kinda cool

My suspition, and probably the correct answer, although there's no proof...

1. This is definitely a 1948 cent.
2. It's probably someone's first attempt at a fake 1943 bronze cent.

My first thought when I saw that sharp cut on the upper 8.


It looks like a "twenty serif pileup" to me!

Looks like someone tried to hammer a nail into it. If your going to try to fake something, atleast do it gently.

First shot at doing anything is usually botched...this same self-taught medallic artist and metallurgist has probably created others, and my bet is that the others are probably a lot better than this one.

well it least I hop ther are better than this one if not he didnt get much better.
