I recently picked up this note and would like opinions. I have included a close up of the area between the M and a in Mark, which I understand has a dot which helps to identify an original. thank you for your assistance.

Indeed! This is a very interesting note. What's the date?

Lots of Jewish symbols on this note... that "barbed wire" contains Stars of David and there more elsewhere on the note, and under "Quittung uber" is a menorah.

Note is dated the 15th of May 1940. (Issue Date)

The note is original. This is most common variety (serie A) of 1 mark notes. Notes without letter "A" are a little bit scarcer. Notes with seven digits in serial number are rarest among 1 mark notes, that were in circulation.
