Dear All,

I have inherited a set of 3 second series China Banknotes of denominations 1, 2 and 5 Fen, all with serial numbers. I have been searching online. While I see plenty of such notes for sale in ebay, I have not come across the set housed in a green-coloured wallet.

I would like to find out the market value. Any help most appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Marius and to CCF!

Would it be possible to post larger pictures of your notes?

I don't think the green folder will add any value to the collection but I could certainly be wrong. I'll let the experts weigh in.

Hi Celtic,

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am not computer-savvy. My friend had helped me upload the photos during the weekend but he is not around to assist me currently. However, the notes themselves are nothing special. Just the same as others, but with the serial numbers.

I am curious as to whether the official green wallet will significantly increase the value of the notes, since I can't find them on sale in ebay and other popular sites. Hoping the experts will assist to clarify.

I don't believe that the holder would add anything to the value. Paper money collectors collect paper money not packaging.

That having been said, these notes with serial numbers are scarcer than those without. Assuming they are in UNC condition you are looking at about $125.00 for the set if the notes are genuine.

Nice! After checking my albums I have a couple of those notes but of course they lack the SNs.

What are you going to do with these, Marius?

Hi Celtic,

I will be tempted to sell if they were worth thousands of dollars. However, as they are valued only at $100 +, I will just continue to hold them : )

Thanks for all the helpful inputs.
