I have purchased a large microscope objective. I was wondering. if some one might know away. for me to mount this thing. its as big as a hard ball. with no thread. the way it mounts is with a collar. that would lock it in place it is a Nikon made. it is razor Sharpe.

ray I will get you some pictures tomorrow. went to and old coin store today. got in there said I was not burying any more coins. could not help myself. there is some nice stuff there really reasonably priced. I saw some incredible morgans coins today. the other shoppers purchased a bunch. I brought a some Canadians from the 1800s. some nice stuff have a great one. there was a couple of young ladies there. buying some serious coins all cash. they knew what they were looking for. when in this store. if you pay cash. they will discount between 15 and 20%.

here ray is some photos of the objective. it looks like it would be held in by a collar. ray it gives more magnification in reverse. it also has a wider view in reverse. not really sure what this is. any of your help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Are you sure its a microscope objective It looks to me like it could be a Microfiche objective( but often they also have a gear integral with the body) or a repro/duplication lens( noting the bayonet lugs)

Edit I just realized its to big for micro film

sorry rocky, I did not see your response til now. This looks like a optical comparator lens, used for making measurements of objects. I have a similar one that is designed for 5x. These odd mounts are always tough to adapt to a bellows. You need to get creative with what you have available, and often make judicious use of masking tape.
