My company is branching out from watches to coins. I am in charge of the photography and have a number of years experience with jewelry. My regular luster and proof photos are looking great but I can't seem to get the toned coins to show any real color. I was looking into the axiel lighting, but would that be much different from a professional photo box? Any other suggestions? All the equipment I'm using is pretty high end. Maybe there is editing program that could help? Thanks In Advance!!
globaltimeRC first welcome take a couple images of your coins. then the help will come. there is different technics the images will show where. you might need to make some adjustments. looking forward to see some photos. have a great one
sure, this is my first try uploading so fingers crossed that it works.
so the second photo is edited, but still lacking a LOT of the color that is in the coin. Its always the ones that you have to tilt to see the color that give me trouble but angleing the coin when I photo just seems to make it worse.
Looks like you're using a diffuse "light box" to shoot the coin? When you view the coin, and see the color you want to show, what kind of lighting do you use? Use that same lighting for taking the pic and you'll capture the color.
