Please discuss! I collect 50ps and so have many UK error 50ps (and other types too) in my collection.. whilst it's great from my perspective that I can buy some fantastic errors at a fraction of the price of US + AU coins, I do wonder why that is the case?
Rest in Peace

As in all things related to value the number of errors and the number of collectors in that specialty determines price.

The fewer the errors the better the price.
The greater the buying power of the collectors the higher the price.

Some countries a not as alert to preventing errors. The U.S. Mint tried to avoid errors and thus when they do get out they are more in demand. Certain errors are more interesting than others and usually have a higher price for these. Hope this helps.

US coins in general carry a premium as a rule of thumb. The correlation between rarity and value compared to anywhere else is completely out of whack. But it is what it is; it's what the market bares.
