There's a long way to go before this one is approved. Definitely no guarantee at this point. If it does get authorized, however, expect the large dealers and grading services to coordinate a mass buy of the coins at launch and re-create the initial frenzy seen with the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum coins.

True, but if a relatively obscure subject like Boys Town coin can make it to a commemorative coin, I rather like the chance of this one.

I'd rather have a 50th anniversary Apollo 11 curved moon coin instead of another ball themed 6-coin commemorative set benefiting yet another multi-millionaires organization. Overkill and the BHOF starts looking gimmicky.

Yeah, given the two, I'd prefer the Apollo coin by a landslide.

I think this coin would be a winner. Basketball is much bigger sport, internationally speaking. I lived in China and Bulgaria and in both countries every boy played basketball, had no clue what baseball is.

Like the Baseball coin, I will pass on this. I just do not like the curved coins. However, a curved moon coin might change my mind.

I'll probably be a buyer for the silver Naismith coins (notice they don't say "NBA" anywhere) should they become a reality.
I would definitely be a buyer for any Apollo / moon coin, and maybe even the Au version of that.

Not a commemorative that I'd have an interest in. I'm sure it will be scooped up by a player and send to NGC by the pallet. Then NGC will get 37 different players to sign the label and then you have to find 37 of each to have a full set.
Blah...

Enough with the sports themes. Basketball is not a significant event in U.S. History despite the fact that some people enjoy the game.
