Soo I've been researching error coins for a while now and just recently started going through some of my late grandparents old change. I'm obviously still horrible at this and need help spotting errors if there even are any. I know I read somewhere about the 1971s could be special so I figured I'd just post some pictures! I know it's not good quality, but I'm just getting started at this. I will also be posting a few other coins as well, so be on the look out for those! Thanks y'all!

to CCF.

It helps if you also post the reverse!

I am not seeing anything. May I suggest that you study this forum's posts and also: http://www.error-ref.com/
to learn what types of errors are out there. Then if you find something suspicious, post it and ask questions. That will be better than just posting each coin you see and asking if there is an error on it.

I think what you are seeing is a combination of some corrosion in Lincoln's hair and nicks, toning and light damage from normal wear.

I don't recall anything about 1971's being special. Looks like a regular corroded/circulated penny.

There are some nice doubled dies that year. About 13 different RPMs that year. One very nice Proof doubled dies:

While these two different proof dies look the same, Not the 'L' on LIBERTY. They are different dies.
Many business strike doubled dies as well. Probably the second interesting years for a number doubled dies was 1971.
