two inquiries:
1) Which exact feature(s) bumps this up to a fine 12, details from a VG-10, details?
2) If it had these rim dings only, would it still have made a details designation w/o the presence of these scratches: just a hypothetical question?

VG-10 details (scratched). Personally, I think it would grade straight without the scratches. The split opinion on VG or F grades is just a difference of opinion.

Quote: 1) Which exact feature(s) bumps this up to a fine 12, details from a VG-10, details? It's the reverse to me. It's a strong Fine reverse.

I'm at 10 details. If 11 was a grade I would give it an 11. Details are from the scratches alone IMO.

VG-10, scratched. Would need quite a bit more detail on obverse to warrant an F grade in my opinion - can barely see any detail in the hair on this example.
