Last night I put an NGC AU Details 1838 Seated Liberty half dime up on ebay as a BIN with "Make an offer". Within five minutes someone made an offer and I countered. A minute after that someone else made an offer.

The first buyer accepted my counter-offer and the coin sold about eight minutes after I listed it.

It should all be that quick and easy!!

Nice. I had an experience like that on Etsy with a ww2 14th AF flying tigers bomber jacket in 2013. I put it on for $9,500 in the afternoon and awoke the next day to a lady frantic trying to buy it but couldn't. I told her that yes it was still available and I'll just send her a PayPal invoice. It was one of THE most thrilling days of my picker career. And I avoided Etsy fees because they couldn't check out there for some reason. I was on such an adrenaline rush that day that I backed my Explorer into a light post with a junction box that broke out my window and dented it so I had to pay $500 at pic-a-part for a replacement but I was perfectly fine with that.

I know our stries are similar but worlds apart however you gotta love a good, quick and easy sell huh paul
Rest in Peace

Obviously you did your home work. I use all 100 of my search allotments on ebay and I've learned from experience that a good item priced fairly will be gone within hours.

Taking that into consideration it annoys the heck out of me to be notified of the same MS 65 Lynchburg Commemorative having been relisted for the 200th time.

It's not like it's hard. Just about any coin has a record on ebay. If you want to sell it fast, offer a fair price and it will sell. Offer a stupid price and you will have those folks who have searches for the item cursing your name after you relist for the umpteenth time.

Had I the money, I would have bought it at that price. I figured you would list it at $200-300.

I had a similar experience with an 1864L IHC. I listed it with a best offer option, and it sold within hours at my full price. Made me question if I had priced it too cheaply.

As an "AU Details" I thought I had to be very realistic with the price. AU is around $170, so I thought my starting offer was OK.
