I'm very new to world coins. Until recently I have only collected US coins. I found this in a cheap mixed bag of foreign coins and the Standard Catalog values it pretty high in UNC or BU condition. What are your thoughts?

From my experience, most coins from this series (0,50-5 drachma coins) are usually very worn, only reaching grades up to VF, many considerably less. I'm unsure how date rareties go, however.

This lot had four of them from 1954, but they showed considerable wear...probably VF condition. This one looks much better, but I don't know how to grade non-US coins.

Looks to have a good amount of circulation on the reverse. Id say around xf condition, value around 10-20. 10 if you're looking to sell it quick, 20, maybe more, if you're patient with finding a collector.

Most foreign prices in the catalog are exaggerated.
Not just here, but look @ sold listings.

I think the "wear" can mostly be attributed to a weak strike, as I see similar weakness on both sides. Since there's some dirt on the obverse I agree it still has some wear.
