I just picked up this 1893 Commemorative Quarter, I have never seen these before and I fell in love with her the moment I saw it. What a beautiful coin. This coin was minted June of 1893, 40,000 minted 15,800 were melted. There are only a bit over 24,000 in circulation. Please let me know what you think. "LOVE THE HUNT!"

Congratulations on acquiring your Isabella Quarter ... the is the only quarter dollar denomination issued for the classic silver commemorative set. You should give some thought to acquiring a 1892 or 1893 dated Columbian Exposition half dollar ... then you would have both of the commemorative issues from that exposition. The Columbian half dollar is more readily available than your Isabella. Based on the photographs provided .... I judge your Isabella to have circulated to the XF range and shows evidence of a cleaning on both surfaces. David

EF-45 details, cleaned. It has acquired a nice circulation cameo which helps to hide some of the previous wipe swipes.
It's easy to fall in love with that quarter as soon as you see one in person. Just seeing one in photos is never as good as having one in hand.
I especially like the "Board of Lady Managers". Can't imagine what fun that group had.

Nickelsearcher, I have the 1893 Half and which really excited me when I saw this quarter, I had no idea this quarter existed until yesterday. I wish I never saw this coin in a way because I fell in love with it right away. So much I just purchased a graded one. It looks like it might be a nice investment coin in higher grade. I purchased a collection from someone about two years ago and it has two entry tickets to the fair. check these out.

'investment grade' is always an intriguing idea. Pleased to learn that you have the Exposition half dollar ... you are certainly on you way to a great start on the classic silver commemorative series. The Exposition admission tickets are true classics ... congratulations on your acquisitions and hopefully expanding knowledge of this treasured time in USA coinage history. David

Late to the party, but agree with others: XF Details - Cleaned. An attractive piece nonetheless. The Exposition tickets are a great addition to a collection of World's Columbian Exposition coins. You might consider acquiring the rest of the tickets as well - there were six primary tickets issued plus a variety of "Day Passes." You might also consider the US Mint struck medals that were part of the Expo souvenir roster. I posted about them here: https://goccf.com/t/130118

Commems, thanks for the link, very nice Medals. It would be nice to have a complete collection. Think I am going to send this coin in to get graded, The coin being cleaned issue is up in the air. I have taken the coin to one of our long time dealers here and he doesn't believe it was cleaned. So we will see. I hope it hasn't been cleaned, even if it has its still a nice coin. Thanks everyone. Please new viewers let me know what you think.

arby96 ... One of the troublesome issues for newer members to this series is that there is no way to judge the relative expertise of the members replying to any given thread ... and as a result it can be difficult to find the true expertise that can be trusted as solid advice. That has me concerned a bit for you based on your statement ... Quote: Think I am going to send this coin in to get graded, The coin being cleaned issue is up in the air. I have taken the coin to one of our long time dealers here and he doesn't believe it was cleaned. You received replies from seven CCF members who state in their opinion the Isabella shown in your photographs is lovely but suffered a prior cleaning. I'm suggesting that should be a slam dunk versus you local dealer opinion ... agreed we do not have the coin in hand to judge. I'm humbled to consider myself one of the experts on the topic of circulated USA classic silver commemoratives ... and I've seen thousands of them. IMHO your coin will not certify at a TPG ... and I hope you save the money for more commemoratives. Do what you feel is needed of course ... if you do submit it ... appreciate you coming back here with the results. David
