The affected area is the mint mark, and? maybe the bottom of his neck?

A Cud is on the edge of coins. Just looks like PMD on the mintmark that might obscure a die chip, also looks like PMD on his neck.

Note line of travel. Hit on the neck, wiped out the mint mark and then hit the rim. PSD
