We are having a short run of wonderful weather here in SE Wisconsin. It's in the low 60s today, the snow is gone and, most importantly, the ground has thawed. After dropping my daughter off at UW-Milwaukee for her 9:00 a.m. class this morning I had 40 minutes to detect a park up the hill from Lake Michigan, a bit north of downtown Milwaukee. The park is only about three blocks from the university. I searched a small area by some old trees. My year began with some aluminum trash, followed by two zinc Lincolns and a clad quarter. However, my final find was a lovely little silver ring with a STERLING hallmark. It only weighs 3.11 grams, but it's nice and it's silver. A good way to start the year!  Paul Bulgerin

Excellent find, the more posts I see like this the more I'm intrigued. Seriously thinking bout investin in a metal direct, I can't imagine not having a blast at treasure huntin. Thanks for sharing Paul.

Oh and the weather here in Kentucky is awesome too. 65 degrees although it's overcast, gives me high hopes that summer is almost here.

brushy bandit, I'm on the KY/TN boarder and the weather here is definitely looking nice... its about time to bust out the metal detector and see if I can find some treasures...

Nice! Not quite thawed out here in northern Wisconsin (still snow on the ground). May have to fire up the detector pretty soon.

Nice ring. Almost broke 60 here today in lower Mich, supposed to be mild through March.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...

My wife and daughter are going to a photography workshop tomorrow, so I have about six hours free to go detecting.
