I got out for about three hours this morning. I hunted two parks in Milwaukee (nothing but clad and zinc) and then went to an old school in another town.

The hunt was a bust; soggy field with standing water and lots of junk, including a bike kick stand.

At the school I found what I thought was a junk ring with the silvering peeling off, but when I got home and showed it to my daughter she had a second opinion. She carefully cleaned it up and thinks it is silver wrapped around perhaps a copper core. Her best guess is that it is a home made ring. No hallmarks, but it is quite lovely.

This is sweet, I'm agreein with your daughter. Great find, I am currently trying to decide which detector to buy. I'm gonna make it my newest hobby. Great find, thanks for posting Paul.

Truly an interesting find and one that could probably tell a great story. Even though we may not know the story the speculation is at least half the fun.
