I've flipped so many that I can't pass over this specimen without an assist. What do you think?

Yes Tommy - you're climbing the pile!

Thanks Ocala - looks like Stage A specimen!

My Lord - I flipped so many of these to finally find one! Long ago I read Wexler's guestimate on population, but I shattered those numbers long ago. Very glad though that he had the markers to reference.

Congrats on a Great find Rackster, you told me about this variety a couple of months ago, and it is pretty much the only thing I look for on 88's.

Thanks Sandy! Still running through the listings. I'm a little confused since the OBV looks MLDS while the REV looks EDS. Still trying to type this coin.

Looks more like a 005 to me. Notice the location of the 'FG':

Maybe Coop. The thing that I can't resolve is the bottom of the G. But the upper curve seems to extend too far. Here's another pic at 40x.

One more picture. The thing I see is that the vertical bar of the G does extend past the lower curve like the 006. But the top curve seems to reach too far. I played with the lighting to try to capture both features without shadow.

I'm generally satisfied that this is an 005. Still, this one will go in a flip as a reference item. The curve of the G looks like 005 and extends towards the middle of the vertical bar but the vertical bar bulges into the G and protrudes beyond the lower curve like the diagnostics for the 006. I had an 89 with the 006 that had abrasions and die wear to make it look like the 005. I spent good time on both coins and satisfied that they are correct RDVs for the year. The hunt will continue...unfortunately. Thanks for the assists.
