Hi, new on the block Have a 1946 D Jefferson nickel seen below, wanted to have opinion on if Machine Doubling or true doubled die. Really evident on the date and star. Added another close up of date and star. Thanks! Edited by Cleatis87 03/09/2016 7:19 pm

I love the toning of the coin. But still to far for me to tell the difference.

Are you referring to 1946-D WDDO-002 in the link you posted?

Can't tell from the images provided except it is a nice tone nickel.

Alright, tried to crop out anything not related to date and star to make as big as possible and sharpened image. Still new to the image optimizer...

The tops of those devices can be just Die Deterioration. So that would be touch call from the images provided so far. Keep trying you'll get something for us.

Does not appear to be a match to a wddo-002 DDO on BVC the spread ob your coin is flowing toward edges. on the wddo-002 is hubbed to east with separation lines on it best areas to check bottoms of IN in in, TY in liberty( notches), star, G in God (notch inner part) if you could get close up we could see if it maybe something not listed

Ok here is the question. Are your images big before you optimize it? If they are big and have good focus then you need to crop the image outside of the image optimizer and just get the selected area. I am guessing you are using a phone or a camera at a distance in which the resolution of the camera being used at that distance won't allow you to blow up the image without it being pixilated. Downside to having a digital zoom and not an optical zoom. Anyways if that is the case you need to use a loop with the camera to get a decent picture. of the specified area .

After looking into Die Deterioration definition and examples, I'm more inclined to say that this is what I am seeing for this coin. thanks for input!
