Found earlier today roll searching.

1997 P Washington quarter:

What is above the arrows on the reverse:

A) die clash? ( possibly a part of Washington's eye from the Obverse

B) An extra small leaf- looks like it could be that.

* Similar but on a much smaller scale like the Wisconsin Quarter with the extra upper and lower leaf variety.

Opinions welcomed.

Hi, I am not the best yet at this, but this is what I can offer. I used the image from the

http://www.maddieclashes.com/wp-con...40137814.jpg which has all the overlays for the coins for us to use for matching up die clashes.

Washington eye does appear to be in that location, so it may match up.

From its shape and position I suspect it's from a slightly damaged die.

Thanks for the inputs!

Mr.Diamond also believes it could be a die clash.

Washington's eye appears to line up in that area.

I am new here tonight and I realize you posted this question months ago but I have the exact same quarter. Did you happen to find out anything more on the error? Die clash?

It is and your coin is also a die clash example.
