Wow! They were not nice to that coin. Looks like a hole was punched through it also.

I would be leery of that piece. What are the chances that all those Chinese merchants made sure the obverse was up before they stamped it and the reverse only saw a couple of counter stamps?

Yeah, there isn't any sign of circulation wear to say so for a coin that is supposedly well traveled.

Here's one I bought about 30 years ago. You would have thought that other guys would have taken the first guy's word for it!   |
