Had this coin in another post about its toning. Now it is time for grading.

Coin does not present this color in natural light. Has beautiful rainbow toning on obvers and dark toning on reverse from sitting in an album for years.

I think it makes XF45 maybe AU50. What do you think?

AU50. Pictures make it look very dull, but I think even with a bit of luster it's seen too much circulation for a 53.

its weird this is the only toned Morgan I have and when I take pics straight on it totally changes its appearance. Is that from the toning? Can't figure out how to get accurate shot of toning/luster on this one.

Use overhead LED lighting, no flash, with the coin standing on its edge. When you can see the luster or toning in whatever camera you're using, then you will be able to see it on the PC. It can help to angle the coin backwards slightly until you "catch" the luster, and then align your camera parallel to the coin's surface.

Thanks for the tip. I do have coin stands (are great stands for my zippo collection), but don't have led lighting. Will have to get some.

I did try a stand for other thread but under my lighting it catches the toning way darker than it actually is.

I did try a milk jug filter. show color on obverse better but no luster...still looks flat No change for reverse

MS62 in my opinion but a grading company may call it AU58.
