Or more accurately two 1/12 Staters

Both have the same attributions of Philip II, Pella Mint and dating to 345-336bc, 0.71 grams and 8mm diameters (essentially a little smaller than your fingertip.)

First is graded by NGC as Choice XF 4/5 strk, 4/5 surf but with a rather well struck head of appollo.

Second is raw and stated as gVF however features provenance to the Le Rider collection and if I won this coin would be going straight to NGC with Le Rider provenance on the label.
Le Rider 14c (D10/R10 - this coin)

Thoughts or opinions are appreciated on these two coins particularly if I should pick up either the first one, the second or both.

They are both very nice coins though the first one is in better condition than the second. If the price is within reason I'd go for both. If not my choice would be the first coin.

If you're after the portrait, then I have to go with Ron on coin 1. But if you are after the coin type, then coin two, because it does not clip anything off the name or other features. The two portraits are different enough that the two side by side might be used to show a difference in modeling or execution (if that is worthwhile).

I think my preference is the first as well, though maybe the colour is washed out of the photo a bit because I prefer the colour of the second coin.

If money was no problem we would buy them all, and I don't really know what you are likely to pay for either, so if you think they are cheap maybe get the pair, otherwise I would plump for the first one. The second one the portrait is attributed to Apollo but it looks like a girl to me, I guess the god of poetry is never going to be particularly masculine...

Seems I have a different take, which is provenance, provenance, provenance! Georges Le Rider, for gosh sakes...such a pedigree trumps style.

I also prefer the second as Bob does , provenance is very important for a coin , and there is no better reference for this coin as being part of the Le Rider collection . albert

Thanks everyone. It looks like we have a division between us. The second coin very much has the Le Rider provenance and the full reverse going for it however it has a rather weak strike on the obverse.
